Almaty is famous for its distinctive bus stops that add to the unique image of the city. However, they are a rare find for the average resident because many of the stops have fallen into disrepair and are being replaced by modern structures. To shine a spotlight on this unique aspect of Almaty, we partnered with the ArchCode research center for cultural preservation. Our team created digital models of the bus stops and showcased them on a dedicated website where anyone could view them in detail and learn about their architectural features and historical significance. The project became truly impossible to miss because we installed displays with QR codes next to the bus stops across the city and replaced the updated the generic bus stop icons in the Yandex Maps app with eye-catching 3D models. Our initiative received widespread attention, generating up to 3 million impressions across various channels.
